77 year old female patient with burn trauma monitored.
Rhythm analysis indicates multifocal atrial tachycardia (MAT) at 120 bpm.
This encounter shows a fast, irregular rhythm with various P wave morphology changes. This is indicative of multifocal atrial tachycardia (MAT). Atrial contractions are being initiated by different parts of the atria, leading to the varied P wave shapes and irregular rhythm. In order to classify the rhythm as multifocal, three or more P wave morphologies must be seen.
